This policy explains what happens to your information when you use JonsTube at jonstube.com. The site is run by Jonathan Harchick. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads and no tracking of our own, and your personal settings stay in your own browser.
Information stored in your browser
Your history, likes, playlists, Watch later list, subscriptions, profile name, settings and game scores are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us and do not sync between devices. You can delete them at any time from Your profile ("Clear all my JonsTube data") or by clearing site data in your browser.
Accounts
There are no accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or password.
Analytics and advertising
The site does not run advertising and does not use analytics or tracking scripts of its own.
Server logs
Like any website, the site is served by a hosting provider (Vercel). The provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use these logs to identify you.
Embedded YouTube videos
Videos play in YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedded player (youtube-nocookie.com). Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information under its own Privacy Policy, which applies to the player. We do not receive that information.
Weather feature
One optional experiment can tint the page to match your local weather. It only asks for your location if you choose to use it, and your browser will ask for permission first. If you allow it, your approximate coordinates (rounded) are sent directly from your browser to the free Open-Meteo weather service to get the current weather. We do not receive or store your location.
Other third party resources
A few experimental pages load code libraries from public content delivery networks (jsDelivr or unpkg) or map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Those services receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser loads the file.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use it only to reply.
Children
The site is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can clear local data at any time, decline location permission, and use the site without playing any embedded video.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
